Summary:In the last sixty years or so there have been only three successful attempts to investigate the interior of North East Land, and at the moment it remains the least known part of the Spitsbergen Archipelago. The Oxford University Exploration Club's expedition, now organised by A. R. Dunlop-Mackenzie and to be led by A. R. Glen, should do much to fill in the major blanks in our knowledge. The party will be the first of its kind to winter there and will have two ice-cap stations.
