Christopher Ruhm

Christopher J. Ruhm is an American economist, academic and author. He is a professor of public policy and economics at the University of Virginia and is a professor emeritus at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Ruhm is most known for his works on the relationship between macroeconomic conditions and health as well as issues related to work-family balance, particularly the effects of parental and family leave policies. His research has been published in leading academic journals, including the ''American Economic Review'', ''Quarterly Journal of Economics'', ''Journal of Health Economics'' and ''Handbook of Health Economics''.
