Summary:Eiders were collected and dissected for a number of metrics and samples including body metrics, numerous tissues, organs and swabs for disease assessment. Birds are currently being processed for parasites, contaminants, diet assessment and are contributing to disease and populations dynamics studies. All tissues are housed in the National Specimen Bank at the National Wildlife Research Center (Environment Canada) in Ottawa.
