The dataset includes measurements from three balloon campaigns: between29 June-27 July 2020at the Multidisciplinary drifting Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate (MOSAiC) expedition; between24 September-12 November 2021 in Ny-Ålesund (Svalbard); and between24 March-12 May 2022 in Ny-Ålesund (Svalbard). The dataset includes downward irradiance (F d ), upward irradiance (F u ), and net irradiance (F net = F d - F u ) gridded to a 1 m vertical axis. We gratefully acknowledge the funding by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) – project number 268020496 – TRR 172, within the Transregional Collaborative Research Center "ArctiC Amplification: Climate Relevant Atmospheric and SurfaCe Processes, and Feedback Mechanisms (AC)3 in sub-project A02.
