Description
Summary:A total of 70 profile measurements of thermal-infrared (TIR) radiation were obtained with the Broadband Radiation Package (BP) during balloon ascents with theBalloon-bornE moduLar Utility for profilinG the lower Atmosphere (BELUGA). The dataset includes measurements from three balloon campaigns: between29 June-27 July 2020at the Multidisciplinary drifting Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate (MOSAiC) expedition; between24 September-12 November 2021 in Ny-Ålesund (Svalbard); and between24 March-12 May 2022 in Ny-Ålesund (Svalbard). The dataset includes downward irradiance (F d ), upward irradiance (F u ), and net irradiance (F net = F d - F u ) gridded to a 1 m vertical axis. We gratefully acknowledge the funding by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) – project number 268020496 – TRR 172, within the Transregional Collaborative Research Center "ArctiC Amplification: Climate Relevant Atmospheric and SurfaCe Processes, and Feedback Mechanisms (AC)3 in sub-project A02. This work was carried out and data used in this manuscript were produced as part of the international Multidisciplinary drifting Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate (MOSAiC) with the tag MOSAiC20192020.
