This species is endemic to Yukon. So far, it was known only from the type locality (Kluane National Park). In the vicinity of Kluane Lake it is one of the most abundant species and inhabits tall-grass and open grass sagebrush steppe at altitude 800–1400 m (Berman et al. , 1995).
