These data are the results of ensemble modelling simulations using theMet Office GloSea5 numerical seasonal prediction system. Files in(zipped) netcdf format contain summer seasonal-mean mean sea-levelpressure (MSLP), 2m temperature (2mT), precipitation (precip), 500 hPageopotential height (Z500) and 200 hPa meridional and zonal componentsof wind (u200 and v200) ensemble seasonal mean fields for specifiedensemble and hindcast summers(June-July-August from 1993 to 2015). The files are named according to the specification of relaxation towardsobservational reanalysis in each. HCAST has no relaxation and TROP hastropical (approximately 22.5S to 22.5N) relaxation at all atmosphericheights. The relaxation is designed to constrain the atmospheric state to beclose to that which was observed within thedomain over which it is applied. Details of the technique can be foundin Maidens et al., 2021* and references therein. * Maidens, A., Knight, J. R., & Scaife, A. A. (2021).
