SYNONYMS: altaica, fetisovi, vicina, vinogradovi. COMMENTS: Subgenus Alticola. Ognev (1964) placed this species in the subgenus Alticola, but Gromov and Polyakov (1977) and Pavlinov and Rossolimo (1987) listed it under the subgenus Aschizomys.
