49. Brooke's Squirrel Sundasciurus brookei French: Ecureuil de Brooke / German: Brooke-Hérnchen / Spanish: Ardilla de Brooke Taxonomy. Sciurus brooke: Thomas, 1892, “Mount Dulit, N. Borneo” (Sarawak, Ma- laysia). This species is monotypic. Distribution. N, C & W Borneo Mts. Descriptive notes. Head-body mean 154 mm (males) and 152 mm (females), tail mean 112 mm (males) and 122 mm (females); weight mean 124 g (males) and 132-5 g (females). Dorsum of Brooke's Squirrel is speckled brown and venter is gray with an orange patch between hindlegs. Tips of ventral hair are whitish. Tail is barred. Habitat. Tall forests on hill ranges at elevations of ¢.600-1500 m. Food and Feeding. There is no information available for this species. Breeding. There is no information available for this species.
