Larvae found under bark, primarily of Pinus spp. and also Picea mariana, and Tsuga heterophylla (Raf.) Sarg. (Pinaceae) (Pollock 1991). In Nova Scotia found associated with Pinus strobus, Tsuga canadensis (L.) Carr., and Picea rubens Sarg. (Pinaceae).
