Bouchet, Warén & Samedi-IRD coll. Remarks. Colossendeis bicincta is a large (adult body length ca 25 mm), rarely-recorded species with a characteristic, bulbous proboscis. Previous records are from the eastern Pacific (Gulf of California, Mexico, Colombia, Panama), the Lau Basin and the north-east Atlantic (Bay of Biscay and Porcupine Abyssal Plain), at depths between 280 and 4850 m, normally deeper than 1900 m. It has not been recorded in the Melanesian region before.
