Summary: | Distribution and status of diurnal forestraptors in Sant Llorenç del Munt i l’ObacNatural Park.- A census of was carried out of breeding populationsof raptors seven raptor species with predominantlyforest habitats: the common buzzard(Buteo buteo), the short-toed snake eagle (Circaetusgallicus), the goshawk (Accipiter gentilis), theEurasian hobby (Falco subbuteo), the Eurasiansparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus), the European honeybuzzard (Pernis apivorus) and the booted eagle(Aquila pennata). The method used was based onidentifying territories from fixed observationpoints, selecting 21 elevated points that overlookpotentially suitable forest areas. Four visits perpoint were conducted during the months fromMarch to July 2012. With the data from this census,the territories of the buzzard and goshawk inMarch 2013 in order to detect their breedinggrounds. At least 43 territories occupied by six diurnalforest raptors were observed
