Summary: | Lissodendoryx (Ectyodoryx) ramilobosa (Topsent, 1916) (Fig. 3 I) Lissodendoryx (Ectyodoryx) ramilobosa (Topsent, 1916): following subgenus assignment in van Soest 2002e: 544. Synonymy: Dendoryx ramilobosa Topsent, 1916: 167, 1917:47, pl. 3, fig. 3, pl. 6, fig. 6. Ectyodoryx ramilobosa (Topsent, 1916): Burton 1929: 399, 1932: 314, 1934: 29, pl. 3, fig. 3. Koltun 1964: 80, pl. 11, fig. 16– 23. Material. 1 specimen from station 048-1 (SMF 11808), 602.1 m, 70° 23.94' S, 8° 19.14' W, 12.01.2008. Description. Observed sponge of very characteristic growth, upright on the substrate, with a narrow base and a rounded upper part, surface covered by rounded conules, bristled. Shape of the sponge resembling a broccoli floret. Skeleton irregularly reticulate with very thick spicule tracts; at the surface, echinating spicules present. Spicules acanthostyles with very few spines at the rounded ends, 260–430 x 15–30 µm, tylotes 250–300 x 8–10 µm, arcuate isochelae about 25 µm, and sigmas 20–70 µm. Remarks. The species has been studied and reported in detail by Topsent (1917), Koltun (1964) and Ríos (2006). Our specimen is in general accordance with those earlier findings.
