Epilithic on gravel (Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2004). Gonothecae : January (Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2004; Peña Cantero 2008), February (Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2004), March (Peña Cantero et al . 1997; Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2004) and November (Billard 1914). Distribution. West Antarctic (Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2004), found in Roosen Channel, Antarctic Peninsula (Billard 1914), Palmer Archipelago and Biscoe Islands (Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2004), off Trinity Island, Antarctic Peninsula (Peña Cantero 2008), off Petermann Island (Blanco 1984), the South Orkney Islands (Stepanjants 1979), the South Sandwich Islands (Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2004), the Weddell Sea (Peña Cantero et al . 1997; present material), off Bouvet (Broch 1948; Peña Cantero & Gili 2006) and off Peter I Island (Broch 1948).
