M. Belal Hossain. Type locality. Annaba, Algeria. Remarks. Apocorophium acutum is reported from a wide range of localities. The synonymy here comprehensively includes all taxonomic citations of the species. Illustrations by Bousfield & Hoover, 1997 in their review do not have the distal projection on antennae 2 which is present in all other illustrated reports of Apocorophium acutum. Distribution. South China Sea: Brunei (current study; Ren 2006). Algeria (Chevreux 1908). British Isles (Crawford 1937; Lincoln 1979). Mediterranean (Chevreux & Fage 1925; Myers 1982).
