Summary:Pandalopsis ampla Spence Bate, 1888 Occurs in the Pacific Ocean from Mexico (Hendrickx & Wicksten 1989) southwards to central Chile (Guzmán & Quiroga 2005) and in the southwestern Atlantic between 37°00'S and Tierra del Fuego (Boschi 1973; Boschi et al. 1981, 1992; Spivak 1997) and south of the Falkland Islands (Takeda & Hatanaka 1984); benthic, 132–2000 m. Boschi et al. (1992) indicates 67°00'S as the southern limit for the species and Boschi & Gavio (2005: table 1) state the species to be present south of the Antarctic Polar Front; both records are herein considered to be in error.
