Ecology and distribution. Species known from the tidal level (Blanco 1984, as Symplectoscyphus plectilis ) to 1379 m (Peña Cantero & Ramil 2006); present material collected between 62 and 417 m. Circum-Antarctic distribution (Peña Cantero & Ramil 2006).
