Locality on both labels: Groenland. Current taxonomic position: Neptunea despecta (Linnaeus, 1758); placed in synonymy with Neptunea despecta [Buccinidae] by A. Adams (1864): 107. Locality is Japan. Lamarck (1822) recognized the priority of Pennant’s name.
