Description
Summary:Diphascon (Diphascon) recamieri (Richters 1911) The three specimens found had smooth cuticles. The drop is present between the buccal and pharyngeal tubes, which are narrow. Two rod-shaped macroplacoids and a microplacoid are within the pharyngeal bulb. Cuticle bars (as in other Diphascon species, and no thin cuticular swelling as in Dastych (1985)) are present in the inner side of the double-claws on the first three pairs of legs, although it has not been reported in other studies (Dastych 1985, 1988). Body size ranged from 440 to 572 μm, mean 502 μm (SD 66). The species has been cited for Europe, Asia, America and the Arctic. In the Iberian Peninsula, it has been recorded for Spain (Mihelčič 1954). Diphascon recamieri only appeared at three sampling points (Table 3), only in LF samples.
