Apodichthys flavidus Girard, 1854. Penpoint Gunnel . To 46 cm (18 in) TL (Miller and Lea 1972). Kodiak Island, Gulf of Alaska to Santa Barbara Island (Eschmeyer and Herald 1983), and on mainland to Point Loma, southern California (Personal communication: Santa Barbara Natural History Museum Fish Collection, Santa Barbara, California). Benthic; depth: intertidal to 11 m (36 ft) (min.: Miller and Lea 1972; max.: Personal communication: Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History Fish Collection, Los Angeles, California). An “ Apodichthys flavidus ” from Adak Island, Aleutian Islands (Personal communication: University of Washington, Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture Fish Collection, Seattle, Washington, UW 027056), is not this species (Katherine Maslenikov).
