Haemulon sexfasciatum Gill, 1862. Graybar Grunt. To 71 cm (28 in) (Jiménez Prado and Béarez 2004). Bahía Magdalena, southern Baja California (Gotshall 1998) and Gulf of California (Thomson et al. 1979) to Ecuador (Béarez 1996), including southern tip of Baja California (Thomson et al. 1979), and Islas Galápagos (Grove and Lavenberg 1997).
