Benthic; depth: 3–419 m (10–1,374 ft) (min.: Dinnel et al. 1990; max.: NWFSC-FRAM). A record from 1,100 m (3,609 ft) (Fedorov 2000) was later determined to represent Psychrolutes phrictus Stein & Bond, 1978 (Love et al. 2005).
