Genus Saldula Van Duzee, 1914 Discussion. — The genus Saldula is the most speciose genus in the Saldidae, and is distributed worldwide, from the tropics to the arctic, occurring on every continent except Antarctica. Diagnostic characters for this genus include the presence of an oblique secondary hypocostal ridge that intersects with the costal margin midway between the embolar base and the fracture (compare Figs. 12–14), reduced ocelli, and the callus of the pronotum bearing a well-defined pit (J. Polhemus, 1985). Two species are known to occur in Peninsular Malaysia.
