Diagnostic characters for this genus include the presence of an oblique secondary hypocostal ridge that intersects with the costal margin midway between the embolar base and the fracture (compare Figs. 12–14), reduced ocelli, and the callus of the pronotum bearing a well-defined pit (J. Polhemus, 1985). Two species are known to occur in Peninsular Malaysia.
