Description
Summary:Neocyttus rhomboidalis Gilchrist, 1906 – Spiky oreo; ③ Albuquerque (1954 –1956) mentioned the capture of a specimen to the north of Madeira (Maul 1948c, 1949), identified as N. rhomboidalis. Nevertheless, this specimen is distinct from the other specimens named by other authors. In the North Atlantic, N. rhomboidalis is replaced by N. helgae, ranging southward to Madeira. The possible occurrence of N. rhomboidalis in this area, as reported by Quéro (1982), seems doubtful.
