Rhamphomyia conservativa was described from nine specimens, of which seven were found in CNC. This synonym was long recognized in the Empididae collection of the CNC and Downes (1970) clearly proposed this synonymy, which we can also confirm. This synonymy was apparently unknown to Melander (1965). Type material examined.
