Description
Summary:Abstract These datasets contain the ice sheet model simulation from theABUMIP (Antarctic BUttressing Model Intercomparison Project) effort. ABUMIPaims at comparing model responses to complete loss of buttressing by investigating the end-member of ice-shelf buttressing, i.e., the total loss of ice shelves. This enables gauging the sensitivity of different ice sheet models with respect to grounding-line retreat, as a function of basal sliding, isostasy, and other model parameters. The experiments are kept simple and build on existing InitMIP-Antarctica experiments (Seroussi et al. 2019) within the framework of ISMIP6 (Nowicki et al., 2016, 2020).See here for the protocol, participating models and requested model output data. Results of ABUMIP have been published in Sun et al. (2020). Key characteristics of participating models are found in the Table 1 of Sun et al. (2020)). Downloading Data The data can be downloaded from the Globus GHub-ISMIP6-ABUMIPendpoint. Please log in andclick on the Download tab to receive the Download instructions. Acknowledgements The experimental protocol and datasets for the ISMIP6-ABUMIP standalone ice sheet simulations would not have been possible without the effort of many scientists that have given their time and expertise. ISMIP6 would like to thank the ABUMIP leadership: Frank Pattyn, Nick Golledge and Sainan Sun. Finally, we thank the ISMIP6 ice sheet modelers for their feedback on the design of the protocol and their willingness to participate in ISMIP6. Terms of use and citation requirements To enable modeling groups and others who support CMIP6 and ISMIP6 to demonstrate its impact (and secure ongoing funding), you are required to cite and acknowledge those who have made CMIP6 and ISMIP6possible.
