Description: Length 10–12 µm, width 6–8 µm, striae (raphe valve) 13–15 in 10 µm. Ecology and distribution: A marine Antarctic epiphytic and benthic species. It was originally described from Potter Cove (Al-Handal et al. 2008b) but has also been recently reported from the Ross Sea (Majewska and De Stefano 2015).
