Python codes for reproducing the figures of the study on 'Subpolar North Atlantic mean state affects the response of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation to the North Atlantic Oscillation in CMIP6 models' Original data used: a) Model output from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase 6 (CMIP6) of the World Climate Research Programme (Eyring et al., 2016). b) Observational / reanalysis data:EN4 (Good et al., 2013) for temperature, salinity and the calculation of density and mixed layer depth; HadSLP2 (Allan & Ansell, 2006) for sea level pressure and the calculation of the NAO index; merged Hadley-OI SST and SIC (Shea et al., 2022) for sea ice concentration; and ERA5 (Hersbach et al., 2020) for the net surface heat flux. This version of the codes is updated based on the revision of the manuscript (31 January 2024).
