Numerical model setup for investigating the role of ocean geostrophic currents in sea ice transport through the Beaufort Sea
This dataset contains model code and input files for a pan-Arctic coupled sea ice-ocean model built on the MITgcm. Original source code is the MITgcm_c66m. Two experiments are conducted. The first is the control run (CTRL) starting from 1991 to 2020. The second is a restart experiment (RST) in which...

The second is a restart experiment (RST) in which I mask out the surface geostrophic velocity within the region 180°-120°W and 69°N-81°N during 2003-2020. Both the two experiments are forced by 3-hourly sea surface wind speed, temperature, humidity, precipitation, pressure, and downward short- and long-wave radiation obtained from the ERA-5. Note that humidity is not archived directly in ERA datasets but can be calculated from surface temperature, dew point temperature, and surface pressure.
