Numerical model setup for investigating the role of ocean geostrophic currents in sea ice transport through the Beaufort Sea

Description
Summary:This dataset contains model code and input files for a pan-Arctic coupled sea ice-ocean model built on the MITgcm. Original source code is the MITgcm_c66m. Two experiments are conducted. The first is the control run (CTRL) starting from 1991 to 2020. The second is a restart experiment (RST) in which I mask out the surface geostrophic velocity within the region 180°-120°W and 69°N-81°N during 2003-2020. Both the two experiments are forced by 3-hourly sea surface wind speed, temperature, humidity, precipitation, pressure, and downward short- and long-wave radiation obtained from the ERA-5. Note that humidity is not archived directly in ERA datasets but can be calculated from surface temperature, dew point temperature, and surface pressure. See the formula at https://confluence.ecmwf.int/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=171411214#:~:text=Specific%20humidity%20at%202meter%20can%20be%20calculated%20over,to%20the%20pressure%20at%202m%29%20in%20these%20equations. code contains code configuration for both CTRL and RST. input_CTRL contains parameter settings and input files for CTRL. input_RST contains parameter settings and input files for RST.
