One of the first and few maps to attempt to map the new boundaries of the United States and British territories during the preliminary treaty at the end of the Revolutionary War. It shows borders, territories, states, cities, towns, forts, Native American land, mountains, rivers, and lakes. A large block of text in the lower right corner explains the fishing rights of the Americans and British people in the north east as set by Article III. Several small notes appear throughout the map, especially near the Mississippi, such as "Ilinois, expelled by the Iroquois," "Corois destroyed by the French," and "These parts and rivers were discovered by the English in 1634."
