Description
Summary:This map portrays North and South America at a very unusual angle, with north oriented towards the upper right corner. Colonies, Native American land, a few settlements, and some rivers and lakes are labeled. Although unlabeled, a string of lakes connected by a river spreads from Lake Superior to the Pacific Ocean; this is the hoped for North West Passage. The map itself is bare of adornment, but an elaborate border of flowers and grapes surround the title cartouche in the lower left corner.
