(/P) —The department of the interior annonneced today that it was collaborating with the territory of Alaska and the Canadian government in preparing plans for the extension of the Pacific highway from the Canadian-United States border to Fairbanks, Alaska. This is a distance of 2000 miles. It will connect with road systems of Alaska, which may be followed to the Coast at Wrangell, Juneau, Cordova or Seward, with Yukon transportation which leads to Berling sea and with the system of airplane transportation which centers around Fairbanks and reaches into practically every part of Alaska. The Pacific highway, which starts at Tia Juana, Mexico, connects with a Canadian raod already at the peace portal on the United States boundary, which lead 1000 miles north to Hazelton.
