Summary:Blood Poison "Cure" Unique. BLOOD POISON "CURE" UNIQUE By Associated Press. KODIAK, Alaska, Oct. 5.—Sitting under a bag of chopped onions, even for,an hour, and listening to a medicine man's incantations is no cure for blood poisoning, Charles S. Gregg, Kodiak island prospector, said here today. Gregg said he was en route to Port Hobron after the explosion ol his rifle magazine had mangled one hand, and stopped at Old Harbor for shelter. The native chief volunteered to drive out the poison and pain, Gregg said, and the squaws chopped a bag full of onions, and took turns suspending it over Gregg's head while the chief indulged in a sing-song ceremony. Gregg said he thanked his hosts but went right on suffering until he reached a doctor at Port Hobron.
