Summary: | Alaskan Moose Moving Into Strange Territory. ALASKAN MOOSE MOVING INTO STRANGE TERRITORY Juneau, Alaska, Nov. 22.—(/P)— Game commission officials today sought an answer to the puzzling migrations of moose, all over the territory, into country never before frequented. Frank Dufresne, executive officer, said six have been killed within 20 miles of the arctic coast, hitherto barren of moose, and that Hardy Trefzgar, an "oldtimer" in the Yakutat region, reported appearance of moose on Yakutat peninsula. The peninsula has been virtually barren of all wildlife because it is hemmed in, landward, by mighty and impassable glaciers. Why the lordly but slightly "dumb" beasts are spreading to sections strange to them will be a principal study theme at the commission's March meeting, Dufresne said. The meeting has been postponed from December 2 because the maritime strike has tied ud transportation.
