Eskimos Are Facing Shortage of Food POINT BARROW, Alaska (/P)—A temporary but "alarming" food shortage among Eskimos who long ago abandoned the native diet in favor of that of the white man was reported in this northernmost American settlement Sunday by Dr. Henry Griest, medical missionary. "We've had no less than 20 cases of serious intestinal disorders among very young Eskimos in recent weeks," Dr. Greist said. "The children, as well as their elders, have been deprived of milk, cereals, bread and dried fruits and have been forced onto an exclusive meat diet."
