ROUTE OF AMUNDSEN. The picture clearly visualizes the main geographical points invovled in Captain Roald Amundsen's attempt to fly in the dirigible Norge from Kings Bay, Spitzbergen, across the north pole to Nome, Alaska, via Point Barrow. The route indicated by the dotted line is approximately 1700 miles. The distance from Point Barrow, where the giant airship was reported seen last night 10 miles off shore, is about 550 miles. Up until late tonight no further messages had been received from the Norge. Reports from Fairbanks, Alaska, were that urship probably was delayed by ind rain and was probably seeking correct compass bearings.
