(/P) -- Fanned by a strong wind from the Stikine river, fire starting from a chimney spark destroyed the Presbyterian church here today, the first Protestant church in Alaska, built in 1879 by Dr. S. Hall Young. The Rev. Russell Pedersen now is pastor. The building was used week days for the seventh and eighth grades and high school. Some school equipment was saved.
