Description
Summary:Priest Preparing For Year's Visit. Priest Preparing for Year's Visit KING ISLAND, Alaska, June 22. (/P)—Father Bernard Hubbard— "the glacier priest"—and his aides today pitched into their task of arranging for a year's stay among primitive Eskimos on this lonely Bering sea island northwest of Nome. The natives took time off from walrus hunting to watch and give some help to the Jesuit from Santa Clara university and his companions, Edgar Levin and Kenneth Chisholm. Commander F. A. Zeusler of the coast guard cutter Northland landed the Hubbard party last weekend when favorable winds forced the main Bering sea jce pack away from the rocky island.
