SEATTLE Oct. 15.—Several thousand miners and prospectors in the Kuskokwim river district, Alaska, are tto-eatened with famine before winter fairly sets in, according to Captain D. S. McAlpine of the power schooner laden with supplies for the Kuskokvim was unable to corrplete its journey because of stroms which drove it in a damanged condition into Seward last month.
