Senate Probers Hear Plaints of Alaska Eskimos NOME, Alaska, July 30 (AP)— The reindeer industry, subject of frequent charges in the past that Eskimos have been mistreated and deprived of their herds, came under the eye of the senate sub-committee on Indian affairs today. E. B. (Duffy) O'Connor, representing the local reindeer board here for Eskimo-owned deer, reiterated charges against the Lomen interests of robbery, kidnaping and a conspiracy to deprive the Eskimos of all their reindeer at a hearing here last night. Carl J. Lomen, president of the Alaska Livestock & Packing company, took the stand to deny all criminal" charges.
