ARCTIC ISLAND IS FOUND AGAIN POINT BARROW, Alaska, Oct. 30. (/P)—The, reported finding of an unmapped island in the arctic ocean, approximately 150 miles north of the mouth of the Colville river, today was taken by oldtimers to confirm a similar "discovery" some 75 years ago. The island was "found" again, recent arrivals from the east coast said, by an Eskimo, Takpuk, and the crew of his small 10-ton schooner. In a storm last fall, while hunting whales and walrus off Beechey point, near the mouth of the Colville,- Takpuk said their ship was blown approximately 150 miles north. There they came upon a rocky island, a mile or more in length, he added, which they landed upon. It was not found on maps, he said.
