Summary:Doctor Declares Eskimos Vanishing. Doctor Declares Eskimos Vanishing KETCHIKAN, Alaska (/P) — Extinction of the eskimo within half a century because of disease, Dr. Victor E. Levine of Omaha said Monday, is a possibility unless the government starts an active campaign against tuberculosis among the people. Doctor Levine, nationally known in the field of hygiene and nutrition, declared there was imperative need of more physicians in the Arctic to fight disease. "If the government doesn't initiate an active campaign against tuberculosis," he said, "there may not be any eskimos 50 years from now."
