Russian Fliers Forced by Fog to Turn Back to Nome Nome, Alaska, Aug. 14.—CP)— Driving into a dense fog over Bering strait, the Russian fliers, Sigismund Levanevsky and Victor Levanchenko, turned back from their flight toward Uelen (Whalen)—Siberia today and landed at 3:30 p. m., PST, at Teller on Port Clarence about 60 miles north of Taking off from Safety lagoon, they had passed over Nome at 2:10 p. m. today (5:10 p. m„ PST) on their way across Bering strait to Siberia and Moscow.
