AIR HOP TO SIBERIA FAILS Bering Strait Fork Balk Chicago Flyer's Efforts. NOME, Alaska, April 25. (/P)— Balked by dense fogs in his attempt to cross Bering strait to Siberia, Parker Cramer, Chicago aviator, returned to Nome today as another flyer was making preparations to search for him. Encouraging heavy fog which he could not fly above or below, Cramer said he landed yesterday at Cape Wales, 100 miles northwest of here, and spent the night in a miner's cabin. Today, he said, he failed in two more attempts to break through the fog, and returned to Nome. One ski of his plane was slightly damaged by landing on soft snow, but it was reparied so that he may try again tomorrow to fly over the frozen strait and circle the east cape, eastern tip of Siberia. W. S. Gamble, who flew with Cramer from Chicago to Nome, remained here.
