Description
Summary:Fate Of Flyers Remains Mystery. FATE OF FLYERS REMAINS MYSTERY FAIRBANKS, Alaska, Aug. 27. (/P)—Fate of the missing soviet transpolar flyers remained unknown today, two weeks after they were last heard from somewhere in the white arctic fastness. Whereabouts of Sigismund Levaneffsky and his five companions in their huge four-motored plane could only be conjectured. Pacific Alaska Airways pilots said they were convinced Levaneffsky never reached Alaska. Three Pacific Alaska Airways planes covered 100,000 miles of northern Alaska territory without finding a trace of the missing ship.
