He took off from Nome Monday for Candle and Kotzebue, but failed to arrive. Heavy fog covered the region at the time of his flight. Archie Ferguson who was searching win, due at Kotzebue, found the plane and towed it ashore. The plane was empty. One door and a window were open, suggesting Easley had crawled from the wreckage.
