Summary: | Alaska Airman Tragedy Victim. ALASKA AIRMAN TRAGEDY VICTIM NOME, Alaska, July 3. (/P)—Ben Easley, an Airways pilot, was believed today to have lost his life in the crash of his plane which was found partly submerged in the Arctic ocean off Cape Blossom, 12 miles south of Kotzebue. He took off from Nome Monday for Candle and Kotzebue, but failed to arrive. Heavy fog covered the region at the time of his flight. Archie Ferguson who was searching win, due at Kotzebue, found the plane and towed it ashore. The plane was empty. One door and a window were open, suggesting Easley had crawled from the wreckage.
