Dedicate Nome Air Field: Alaskans Hope For Airplane Service Next Spring. DEDICATE NOME AIR FIELD Alaskans Hope for Airplane Service NOME, Alaska, Nov. 1. (A.P.) — Visioning a day when Nome will be a strategetical air base for transocean and transcontinental flights, Nome residents turned out en masse today to dedicate the new airplane landing field hero. The field was constructed with federal and territorial funds and is expected to be equipped with a dirigible mooring mast and hangars for ice" which will connect Nome with the "outside" during the frozen months. Residents of Nome are looking to Inauguration next spriftg of the Fairbanks-Nome airplane transit service.
