Find Remains of Ancient City on Alaskan Island CORDOVA, Alaska, Sept. 10.— (U.P.) -- Remains of a pre-historic buried city, built by a people long since vanished, were uncovered on Kodiak island by the Smithsonian institute Archeological expedition, Dr. Ales Hrdlicka reported here A massive wall. 350 long and 16 feet high, was the major evidence of inhabitants different from the Aiuetian Indians or Eskimos, Dr. Hrdlicka said. The scientist believed the Aleutian islands once were inhabited by a race of people of relatively high Stone lamps, weapons and other implements .were uncovered.
